Announcements with approval, expiry, and notifications
Post household announcements with admin approval, expiration, and notification support.
What Announcements does
For a family it is 'the plumber comes Thursday.' For an HOA it is the pool closure and the assessment notice. Announcements are posted, approved by an admin, sent as a notification, and expire when they are no longer relevant.
Groups let an announcement go to the board or to a floor rather than to everyone.
How it works
- Admin approval before an announcement is published.
- Expiration dates.
- Notifications to the audience you choose.
- Group targeting.
Who it's for

Guides that use Announcements
- A realistic weekly family planning routine that takes 20 minutes — A Sunday-evening routine for two adults: check the calendar, plan dinners, reset the chore week, settle the rides. Twenty minutes, four steps, once a week.
- How to make a family command center with an iPad or an old tablet — Turn a spare iPad, Android, or Fire tablet into a kitchen wall display in ten minutes: today's schedule, kids' checklists, announcements, grocery quick-add.
- Running an HOA architectural review process homeowners trust — Most ARC disputes are process failures, not design disagreements. Give requests a front door, votes a record, and every decision a written reason.
- Collecting HOA dues without chasing people every quarter — A treasurer's system: one status list per billing period, allocation rules that post to reserves as payments land, and a close that reconciles the period.
- Running board elections your membership actually trusts — A secret ballot members believe: an eligible-voter roster fixed before nominations, majority or ranked choice decided up front, and a certified, minuted result.
- Turning a reserve study into a funding plan your members trust — What a reserve study actually tells a board, why percent funded is a ratio and not a grade, and how to run the funding plan so the balances stay current.
- Organizing neighborhood mutual aid that is still running next year — Mutual aid groups do not usually fail from lack of goodwill. They fail on coordination. What to put in place so help is asked for, offered, and tracked.
- Running a chapter through recruitment, the year, and the handover — The chapter year as a system: a recruitment pipeline, a roster that survives graduation, attendance that catches drift, and a real officer handover.
- Running the pool, the clubhouse, and the parking lot without a feud — Shared property generates more complaints than money does. How to run amenity booking, guest parking, and the vehicle registry so the rules enforce themselves.
- How to run a youth team's season without a group chat — A youth season as a system: one team list, the schedule on every family's calendar, RSVPs by a deadline, the roll, and no family sees another's number.
- Keeping a class's parents informed without a group chat or your own number — A class as a system: one list of families, dates on each family's calendar, notices that expire, replies that reach only you, and no parent sees another.
- Keeping your clients informed when they must never see each other — For a tutor, trainer, music teacher or counsellor: one list of clients, your dates on their calendars, notices that expire, and no client sees another.
- Running a PTA or booster club year that the next board can pick up — A board in one shared space, parents signing up by link with no account, money tracked against goals, and minutes and elections that outlast the board.

Announcements is one of the apps in the Chickadee Bandit library. Every household starts nearly empty and installs only what it uses; there is no per-app charge. Your data lives in your household's own private, encrypted database, with no ads and no data selling. Browse the Everyday apps or read the source on GitHub.
