Chickadee Bandit

Care for a parent, shared between siblings

One care circle between your households, holding only what the care needs.

Built for a family that lives in more than one place

Caring for a parent across several adult children usually runs on one group text, and a text thread has no memory and no schedule. The sibling who visited Monday forgets to mention the appetite; the one three states away hears about the fall on Thursday; nobody is sure the evening pill was taken.

A care space on Chickadee Bandit sits between your households. Each sibling keeps their own private household — their own calendar, chores and kids — and the space holds only the care. It cannot see into any home, and no home can see into another. Your parent can be a member too, on their own phone or a tablet in the kitchen: this is coordination with them, not surveillance of them.

Visits and what they saw

A visit rotation shows at a glance whether Wednesday is covered, and a shared observation log tagged general, health, mood or medication means the next visitor reads what the last one saw before they arrive.

Medications, and the missed dose

Each prescription with its times and days. The people you choose get a nudge at each dose, and the family members you name are told when one is still unticked thirty minutes late. In a care space every sibling sees the same list and the same ticks, and your parent ticks their own.

A daily 'I'm OK'

One tap a day on your parent's own schedule, with an optional mood and note. A missed check-in alerts the family members you choose and outside contacts who have confirmed their email, such as the neighbour with a key.

Appointments and care tasks

Appointments with the provider, time, place, notes and who is driving. Care tasks with an assignee and a due date — the refill, the call about the hearing aid — on the same Today view as the day's doses.

Readings, with a trend

Blood pressure, weight, blood sugar and the rest, recorded as numbers for each parent with a trend over the last 90 days. Your parent can log their own on their own phone.

One record for the doctor

The care profile, the readings, the observation log and the appointments for the dates you choose, in one document to print or save as a PDF before an appointment. Medications prints its own list beside it.

The paperwork

The power of attorney, insurance policies and discharge instructions in adult-only folders, the doctors and the pharmacy in a shared contact list, and a printable emergency health card for an aide or an emergency room.

A shift log for a paid caregiver

A home aide gets a guest login with an end date. They log each shift with a handoff note, tick tasks and record readings, and notes marked family only never reach them. Guest logins belong to a household, not a care space, so this is for Elder Care installed in the home where the aide works.

News for the wider circle

Updates is one page for everyone who keeps asking. Post when there is news, mark each update for everyone or for the family only, and share one link that friends read and leave a message on without an account.

Help from everyone else

After a hospital stay, a meal train gives neighbours and friends one link to claim a night and say what they are bringing, with no account and no app to install.

What it costs

One sibling sponsors the care space from their household's plan (from $6/mo) and everyone else joins free. The Family plan's space holds up to 8 people and 10 apps; Group and Organization plans hold more. Every app is included — the missed-dose alerts and the check-in alerts are not an upgrade. See every caregiving app we'd consider, compared by what each is for, or read the guide to setting up a care circle.
