How do I add someone to my household?

A household admin can send invites from Family in the app. Guests (limited outside access) are managed under Guests.

What are apps, and how do I add them?

Chickadee Bandit is built from small apps — chores, calendar, grocery lists, and dozens more. A household admin picks which ones your household uses from the Apps page; everyone in the household then sees them on their home screen.

Can I send email into my hub?

Yes. With Premium, a household admin can create a unique address under Settings → Family Inbox. Forward school notices, receipts, photos, calendar invitations, and other messages there to keep them in a shared inbox. Add +docs, +photos, or +receipts to the address to route supported attachments to an installed app. Messages from unknown senders are held for review.

What are automations?

Automations connect your apps: when something happens in one app, something else happens automatically in another — for example, completing a chore adds allowance to the piggy bank. A household admin sets them up under Settings → Automations. Each automation keeps a run history there, so if one didn't fire you can see exactly why.

What's the difference between a member and a guest?

Members are part of your household and use its apps. Guests are people outside your household — a babysitter, a grandparent, a coach — that an admin invites with limited access to just the things you choose to share with them. An admin manages them from the Family page, under Guests.

What is a shared space?

A Space brings several households together — a carpool, a scout troop, an HOA board, a league — with its own shared apps alongside each household's private ones. Joining a Space someone else sponsors is always free. Every paid plan includes at least one sponsored Space, and the Community add-on lets organizers sponsor more. Use the household switcher at the top of the screen to move between your household and any shared Spaces you're in — that menu is also where an admin creates one. See real-life examples or compare plan allowances.

What does Premium add?

Premium is an optional add-on for features with ongoing processing or delivery costs: a Family Inbox for forwarded email and supported attachments, AI-assisted capture, scheduled reminders, digests and outbound email, enhanced share links, and calendar feeds. Enhanced share links can accept responses from people outside your household and add password protection or a longer lifetime; read-only links remain included with every plan. Calendar feeds are one-way — we publish your family calendar for services such as Google or Apple Calendar and never modify your external calendars. Manage Premium under Settings → Billing.

What does Community add?

Community is a $30/year organizer add-on. It adds three sponsored Spaces to your allowance and raises each sponsored Space to at least 10 participating households and six enabled apps. Your plan's per-Space member limit still applies. You can also purchase Community without a household plan if you only need to organize shared Spaces, and joining a Space sponsored by someone else is always free. See the plan and add-on comparison for details.

Where do I manage my share links?

You create a share link from within an app, on the item you want to share. To see and revoke your household's active links in one place, go to Settings → General and find the External Sharing section — the same place you control who's allowed to share. The list appears once you have at least one link.

How do I lock a kitchen tablet to the family dashboard?

Pair the tablet from Settings → Shared Devices, then use the tablet's own single-app lock so no one can wander off into other apps — iPads call it Guided Access, Android calls it screen pinning. Our shared tablet setup guide has two-minute steps for iPad, Android, and Fire tablets.

How do I change or cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and your data stays available to export during the grace period afterward.

Can I get all my data out?

Yes — Settings → Export builds a complete archive of your household's data and files, and emails you when it's ready to download.

How do I delete my account?

From Settings → Account & Security, or follow the steps on our account deletion page. Deletion has a 7-day grace period with a cancel link, then permanently removes your data.

Is my data private?

Your household's content is encrypted at rest, never sold, and never used for advertising or AI training. Details in our Privacy Policy.
