Accessibility settings

Bigger text, less motion, and stronger contrast. Included in every plan.

Where the settings are

On the web, go to Settings → Appearance and scroll to Accessibility. Make your changes and tap Save.

The page opens on Just for me: what you choose there changes only what you see, on every device you sign in on, and nobody else's view. Your text size, motion, and contrast choices follow you to every household and shared space you belong to; your own colors and background are kept per household, so each can look different. Anything you haven't changed follows the household. Under each heading you'll see whether it's your own choice or the household's, and Use household setting hands it back.

Household default is what everyone sees unless they've chosen their own. Any member can change it. Guests can't, but a guest can still set their own text size, motion, and contrast under Just for me. Both apply to the hub and to every app inside it, and your own device's accessibility settings are always respected on top.

Text size

Drag the Text Size slider. The sample underneath shows the size before you save. Apps grow with it too, wherever they size their text to follow your setting.

In the mobile app, the text size set on your phone is added on top: if your phone uses larger text, apps show larger text too. Native screens in the mobile app follow your phone's text size directly.

Reduce motion

Under Motion, choose:

  • Match my device (the default): animations and smooth scrolling are switched off whenever your device's reduce-motion setting is on, such as Reduce Motion on an iPhone or Mac.
  • Always reduce: switched off whatever your device says.

In the hub, loading spinners keep turning, so you can tell a page is still working.

High contrast

Under Contrast, choose:

  • Match my device (the default): contrast goes up whenever your device asks for it, such as Increase Contrast on an iPhone or Mac.
  • High contrast: always on.

High contrast darkens grey text (or lightens it in dark mode), strengthens borders, and draws a clear outline around whatever has keyboard focus. While it's on, it replaces any custom text colors, custom background, and the frosted-glass navigation, since each can make text harder to read.

In the mobile app, secondary text darkens when your phone asks for more contrast (Increase Contrast on iPhone, High contrast text on Android), and apps you open there switch to high contrast too.

Text colors

You can pick your own Primary text and Secondary text colors. If a color is hard to read against your background, a warning appears under it with its contrast ratio. Aim for at least 4.5:1. Custom text colors apply to the light theme only; dark mode keeps its own.
