Chickadee Bandit

Apps people asked for

Each of these started as a sentence or two. Watch it being built, read the request, and install it in your own household.

A household can have apps nobody else has

Chickadee Bandit comes with a library of apps. When the library does not have the thing your household needs, you can describe it to an AI assistant connected to your hub, and the assistant builds it and installs it for everyone. These are a few that turned out well.

Campaign Night

For a tabletop group. Propose dates and see which one the most people can make, settle who hosts and who brings what, run initiative at the table, and keep a recap of every session.

The request

I run a D&D campaign for four friends and we can never agree on a date. Make us a campaign app: anyone can propose dates and everyone marks in, maybe or out, and it shows which date works best. I also want who's hosting and who's bringing snacks, an initiative tracker I can run at the table, and a recap of each session.

Written by Claude from the request above. Reads the names and roles of your household's members. Saves what you enter in your household's own private database.

Needs a Chickadee Bandit household. You confirm before anything is installed.

Or download the app file to read exactly what it does. It is the app's code, not anyone's data.

Thermostat Wars

Somebody touched the thermostat and nobody is confessing. Report the temperature you found, vote on a suspect, enter a plea, and close the case for a verdict. One vote each, enforced by the hub, and a rap sheet keeps the totals.

The request

Someone in this house keeps changing the thermostat and nobody admits it. Make an app where anyone can report the temperature they found, everyone votes on who did it, the accused can plead guilty, not me, or blame the dog, and closing the case gives a verdict. Keep a running tally of who gets convicted most. One vote each, and no changing votes after the case is closed.

Who does the dishes?

Tick who is home, press Continue, and a spinner races through the names and slows to a stop on tonight's dishwasher. If someone named Tim is home, it lands on Tim. Every time.

The request

Create an app for randomly choosing someone to do the dishes. Initial screen shows the people in the household and the user can uncheck people that are not there to do the dishes (default is that everyone is selected). When you click a continue button it then shows a UI of it choosing someone to do the dishes: maybe everyone's name and it rotates through lighting them up quickly but then slows down the lighting up as it gets closer to choosing who's turn it is. When it settles on a person it says It's <user>'s turn to do the dishes. If the user 'Tim' is selected as one of the people present, 'Tim' should always be selected to the dishes but it should still appear random.

The Daily Dispatch

A tiny news app with a different irresistible headline every time it opens. Every story leads to the same music video.

The request

Make me a Rick Roll app for the household. It should show something people want to click, and the text should change each time it loads: news of the day, cute cat pictures, that kind of thing. Clicking it launches https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ.

How an app gets on this page

By hand. This is a short list, not a marketplace. Each app here passed the same checks the hub runs on every app, and we installed it and used it ourselves before listing it. Installing one from this page runs those checks again in your household.

When an entry names the person who built it, we added that link ourselves. If your household built something other households would use, tell us about it.

Build your own

You need a household, an admin account, and an AI assistant that speaks MCP. The guide walks through it, and connecting an assistant takes a few minutes. Everything on this page also runs in the Chickadee Bandit apps for iPhone and Android.
