Shared Spaces
Work with other households (a carpool, a co-parent, a team, a chapter) without opening up your own.

What a Space is
A Space is a separate place with its own apps and its own members, drawn from several households. Your household stays private: people in a Space see the Space's apps and nothing from your home hub. One household sponsors the Space on its plan, and joining is always free.
Someone who's around every day, like a grandparent who does school pickup, may belong in your household instead. Inviting an outside adult into your household lets them see everything it shares with adults; a Space keeps your household private.
Create a Space
- Open the household menu at the top and choose Create a shared space (or Manage spaces once you have one), then + New space.
- Give it a name and choose a type. In a Shared space or Co-parenting Space members see each other. In a classroom, team, client or announcement-list Space members see you, never each other.
- Choose what happens When someone leaves: keep their contributions, or scrub their personal details. This can't be changed later.
- Choose Create space, then add its apps.
Invite people
In the Space, under Invite members, choose Create link and send it. Space invite links last 48 hours. The person joins from their own household, or creates an account if they don't have one, and never pays to join.
Who pays, and how big a Space can be
The sponsoring household's plan sets how many Spaces it can sponsor, and how many people and apps each can have:
| Plan | Spaces | People per Space | Apps per Space |
|---|---|---|---|
| Family | 1 | 8 | 10 |
| Group | 2 | 12 | 12 |
| Organization | 3 | 20 | 14 |
The Community add-on ($30 a year) adds three more Spaces and four more apps in each, for organizers who run several groups. It doesn't raise how many people fit in one Space. See pricing.
Leave a Space
- Just you: in the Space, under Your membership, choose Leave this space. What you added stays unless the Space scrubs people who leave.
- A whole household: a steward chooses Withdraw next to that household in the members list.
- Delete the Space: its stewards can choose Delete this space. Everyone's home households are untouched.
If the sponsor's plan ends
The Space turns read-only and shows the date its data will be deleted, 90 days after the sponsor's plan ended. Any household in it with a paid plan can choose Adopt this space to take over sponsoring it and keep it going. A sponsor who wants to hand a Space over before then can use Transfer sponsorship.
Co-parenting Spaces
A co-parenting Space comes with a custody schedule, shared expenses, family records and a shared calendar. Both parents are equal stewards: removing a member, demoting the other parent, or deleting the Space needs the other household's approval. The Co-parenting app is the Space's record, so neither parent can remove or suspend it. The other parent joins free. See co-parenting and, if the other parent won't join, this guide.
