Guest parking passes, first come, never overbooked
The board sets how many guest parking passes are available each night; residents claim an open pass first-come, and can release it. Atomic capacity claims keep the lot from being overbooked. Complements the Vehicle & Parking Registry.
What Guest Parking Passes does
The lot holds so many guest cars. The board opens each night with a pass count, residents claim a pass when they have a visitor, and release it when plans change.
Claims are atomic, so two residents cannot take the last pass at the same time, and each resident holds at most one pass per night.
How it works
- Per-night capacity set by the board.
- Residents claim, release, or re-claim another night.
- One pass per resident per night.
- Capacity enforced by the server, even under a race.
