A potluck sign-up sheet that keeps five people from bringing chips
Create gatherings with dish slots and let members claim, swap, and release dishes without overbooking a category.
What Potluck does
A potluck needs one thing a group text cannot give it: a cap on how many of each dish. This app lets the host lay out the slots (three mains, two salads, four desserts) and everyone claims one.
When plans change, a dish can be swapped or released and the slot opens up again for someone else. Nobody has to keep the list straight by hand.
How it works
- Dish slots per category with capacities set by the host.
- Members claim, swap, and release dishes.
- A category cannot be overbooked.
- Adults create gatherings; everyone in the household can take part.
Who it's for
Family reunions, block parties, and any gathering where the food is crowd-sourced.

Works well with
Guides that use Potluck
- Small family traditions, and what makes one survive past the second year — Traditions do not die from being disliked. They die because they depended on one person remembering. What to make automatic so the small rituals keep happening.
- Running a PTA or booster club year that the next board can pick up — A board in one shared space, parents signing up by link with no account, money tracked against goals, and minutes and elections that outlast the board.
