Timed flash cards for times tables, spelling words and anything else

Knowing the 7 times table is a matter of repetition, and repetition is easier when there is a time to beat. Pick a set, answer the cards as fast as you can, and try to beat your best. A run is 10, 20 or 40 cards, and each set and length keeps its own best time.

The maths facts are built in: times, divide, add and take away. Practise one table at a time, or everything up to a number. For anything else, write a deck: this week’s spelling words, capital cities, Spanish vocabulary. A deck is typed one card per line, so a list from school takes a minute to put in.

A wrong answer does not end the run. The right answer is shown and has to be typed before moving on, with the clock still running, so a miss costs time and the fact gets practised once more.
