A practice log a parent signs off, with a weekly goal

Twenty minutes of piano a day, five days a week, is easy to agree to and hard to keep track of. This keeps the count. A parent adds what each child practises and sets the goal: minutes a day, and days a week.

The child starts a timer when they sit down, or types in the minutes afterwards. Each session then waits for a parent, who sees a short list of what was logged and confirms it with one tap. Only confirmed minutes count toward the goal, so the week’s total is one a parent has seen.

A row of seven dots per activity shows the week: the days the goal was met, the days still waiting for a parent, and the days that fell short.

• An activity is anything a member practises: an instrument, a language, free throws, handwriting.
• A goal per activity, in minutes a day and days a week.
• Start a timer or type in the minutes. A timer started on one device can be stopped on another.
• A parent verifies each session, and can correct the minutes or remove it.
• A week of dots per activity, and a dashboard badge counting the sessions waiting to be verified.
• A child sees their own activities and sessions. Adults see everyone’s.
• A child cannot change or delete a session once it is logged.
