Chickadee Bandit

Five Baby Connect alternatives, by how each one shares the log

Where to go from Baby Connect: ParentLove for free caregiver logins, Daily Nanny for hours and pay, Huckleberry or Glow for predictions, or ours.

Quick answer

ParentLove for free caregiver logins with view-only or edit access per child and feature. Daily Nanny for a nanny's hours, overtime and pay, on iPhone. Huckleberry for sleep predictions and plans, if one shared login is fine. Glow Baby for AI forecasts on its Family Plan. Chickadee Bandit for a nanny with their own time-limited login and a shift log.

Baby Connect is the tracker most often recommended when a nanny or a grandparent is part of the care: one subscription covers every caregiver, each signs in as themselves, they can message each other, and it runs on the web as well as phones. If that is working, there is little reason to move.

People leave it for the price after the seven-day trial, when the log goes read-only without a subscription; for sleep predictions it does not offer; or because what they need from a nanny is the hours and the handoff, not only the log. This list is ordered from the closest like-for-like to the furthest. We make the last entry and it is marked; every claim about another product is restated from our baby tracker round-up.

The list

  1. ParentLove

Best for: Free caregiver sharing with view or edit access per child, and a one-time price

The closest match to Baby Connect's sharing, for nothing: unlimited caregivers, each with their own login, and an invite link that sets view or edit access per child and per feature, which Baby Connect's pages do not describe. Timers sync between caregivers and medicine reminders can notify all of them. No messaging and no web app; trends past seven days, health charts, a pediatrician PDF and CSV export are one-time purchases, and the free app shows ads.

Cost: Free with ads, unlimited caregivers included. Pro $24.99 or ProFamily $39.99, paid once; single add-ons $9.99 to $11.99 each.

  2. Daily Nanny

Best for: A nanny's own timesheet, with overtime and pay, beside the day's log

If the nanny is the reason you use Baby Connect, this is built around them: clock-in shifts with an hourly and an overtime rate, what is owed, and parents marking shifts paid, beside the day's log, daily and weekly reports, photos and a group message thread. One Premium subscription covers the care team. It is iPhone and iPad only, its website did not load when we checked, and its listing describes no growth charts or export.

Cost: Free; Premium $4.99 or $39.99 a year, and one subscription covers the whole care team. Prices from its App Store listing.

  3. Best for: Sleep predictions and sleep plans, with one login the household shares

If what you want is help with sleep rather than more caregivers: SweetSpot nap and bedtime predictions on Plus, and personalized sleep plans on Premium, over a free tracker that also covers growth, medicine and reminders. The trade is sharing. Its help pages say a second caregiver signs in to the same account, so a nanny sees everything and nothing records who logged what. No web app or Alexa skill is described on its pages.

Cost: Free; Plus $11.99/mo or $68.99/yr; Premium $14.99/mo or $119.99/yr. Fourteen-day Premium trial with no card.

  4. Glow Baby

Best for: AI forecasts and charts, for a family that will pay for the Family Plan

AI forecasts of the next nap and feed, pattern charts, weekly reports and PDF and CSV export on Premium. Each caregiver is invited by email and can be disconnected, but only on the Premium Family Plan. No messaging between caregivers. The iPhone app's last update was November 2025.

Cost: Free with ads. Premium $69.99/yr, $39.99 a quarter or $99.99 for life; Family Plan $89.99/yr. Prices from its help centre; its website and App Store listing quote lower ones.

  5. Chickadee Bandit

    That's us

Best for: A nanny with their own login that ends on a date you set, and a shift log beside the baby log

Narrower than Baby Connect as a tracker: no growth charts, no temperature or vaccines, no feed reminders, no charts, no watch app and no Alexa, and entries expire after two years; medicine doses and their reminders live in Medication Tracker instead. What we add is the nanny's side. The nanny is a household guest with their own login, access for up to a year that ends by itself or when you press End now, and sight only of the apps you grant. They log under their own name, start a shift when they arrive and leave a handoff note when they go, and the Shifts tab totals the week's hours. One household price covers the nanny and every other app in the library.

Cost: $6/mo or $60/yr for the whole household, up to 10 members, with every app in the library. A nanny joins as a guest at no extra cost. 30-day trial, no card, no ads.

Choosing between them

  1. If you want caregiver logins for free, with view-only or edit access set per child and per feature, ParentLove.
  2. If the nanny's hours, overtime and pay are what you need, and everyone has an iPhone, Daily Nanny.
  3. If sleep is the problem, Huckleberry, accepting one shared login.
  4. If you want AI forecasts and will pay for a Family Plan, Glow Baby.
  5. If the nanny should have their own login that ends on its own, a shift log with weekly hours and a thread with you, on one household price, ours.

What you give up by leaving

Baby Connect's web app and Alexa skill have no equivalent among the specialists here; ours runs in a browser too. Messaging between caregivers goes with it unless you move to Daily Nanny. None of these imports Baby Connect's history. Export your records as CSV or HTML from its reports before your subscription ends.

The feature list is not fixed

Every other product on this page is a fixed set of features: it does what it does, and a need it did not anticipate gets a no. Chickadee Bandit is built from small apps, and a household can add one of its own. An admin describes the app in a paragraph on the Apps page and the hub builds and installs it, using the AI credits that come with every plan; someone who writes code can start from any of the open-source apps and install their own version from a URL. A custom app gets the same checks as the ones we ship: it declares what it reads and writes, keeps its data in your household's own database, and the hub refuses anything it did not ask for.

Where this list comes from

We make one of the products on it, and it is marked. Every claim about another product is restated from the head-to-head page that links from its name, where it was checked against that product's own site on the date shown there — nothing on this page was researched separately. The order is how close a like-for-like replacement each one is for someone leaving Baby Connect, not a ranking of merit.
